You would want to note that it was an 8 on the break, but do not put the hash mark in the column. Simply write on the scoresheet 8OB and S08. Either way the player will not get credit for the 8OB, but notating that it was a scratch on the 8 when it was put in on the break does affect the way the score is input into the system.
